How to Add A Search Box to Your Site

You can add a custom search box to your site to search your site only or other sites as well by signing up for a Google Custom Search tool.

Go to http://www.google.com/coop/cse/ to sign up.

When signing up, please follow the instructions carefully. When you specify what sites to search, it may help to review the "Tips for formatting URLs" link. For example, if you want your entire site to be searched, you will need to enter www.yourdomainname.com/* (the /* forces it to search all your pages).

When you are done creating your search box, you will see a page title "My Search Engines." There you can click "custom search element" to see the html code that will need to be added to your site. Copy all of this code.

Log into your Faithwebsites account, add a Text/Graphic Editor to a page. Click the "Source" button in the upper left corner of the Text Editor to switch to html code view. Paste the code from Google into this space and click "Add." This feature will work once Google has spidered your site at least one time.
