Instructions for Setting Up Home Page Template 2 |

Template 2 is designed to utilize top navigation menus usually with drop down menus (level one links only). The menu can be placed above or below your banner graphic. It also has Upcoming Events on the left side, a “What’s New” section in the middle and an area for promo graphic links, photos or text on the right.

To add this new home page design to your site, you should first be sure of two things:
- Your site should be set to the wider size (1024x768). Email info@faithwebsites.com to find out your site size if you are unsure. We can widen it for you for no extra fee.
- Your site should utilize top navigation menus. The left navigation menus can still appear on your interior pages, but top navigation is the only menu on your home page with this design. To add the Home Page Template 2 to your site, just follow these instructions:
- Go to the Navigation Builder Home. Click on the link at the top of the page called “Home Page Template”
- Select “Template 2” from the drop down menu and click “Submit”
- You now see the tools for this page added to the Main Body area:

- Add news items (text, newsletters, links, etc) to the “What’s New” section by clicking “Add Resource/News Item.” If you just want to type short news stories, simply Name it in the box “Resource/News Name” and fill in the “Short Description” with your text. Then for Resource Type, click “None – Title is not linked.”
- Your Upcoming Events will populate from your main calendar. Click “Update” to adjust which calendar categories show up in this area and to adjust the number of days out that are shown.
- In the Right Side Photos area, you can add photos, promo graphics that link to interior pages or text.
- Notice the links across the top of the page to help you administer it… Preview Page, Edit Settings/Colors, Take Live and Delete This Page.
- To change the colors, menu location, add additional text or CSS code and edit the footer, go to the Edit Settings/Colors link.
- When you are first creating this page, it will be added to your site as an inactive page called “Home – Template 2.” To take this page live and replace your existing home page, just click “Take Live” at the top of the page. It will automatically make this page your index page (active home page) and make the old home page inactive and rename it “Home Page – Old.”
